Overview

Mantle Software ("we", "us", "our") operates Soundwave and this website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the game and its online features — nothing more.

Information We Collect

When you play Soundwave or use its online features, we may collect the following:

• Steam ID and display name — used to identify you on leaderboards and in versus mode. Pulled from your Steam account.
• Game scores and statistics — your scores, round breakdowns, SR rating, wins, losses, and streaks, stored to power leaderboards and competitive features.
• Chat messages and username — messages sent in the in-game community chat are stored in our database for moderation and display purposes.
• Session tickets — temporary tokens from Steam used to verify legitimate game ownership. Not stored permanently.
• Discord Rich Presence data — your current game status (e.g. "Ranked Play · Round 2/5") is shared with Discord if you have the Discord desktop app open. This is handled by Discord's own systems and subject to your Discord privacy settings.

We do not collect passwords, payment information, email addresses, or any data beyond what is listed above.

How We Use Your Information

• To display your name and scores on global and daily leaderboards
• To operate the versus mode SR rating system
• To power the in-game community chat
• To verify Steam ownership and prevent cheating
• To enforce chat moderation rules (timeouts and bans)
• To improve the game based on aggregate usage patterns

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

Data Storage and Security

Game data including scores, ratings, and chat messages are stored in Firebase (Google's cloud infrastructure), protected by Firebase Security Rules that restrict read and write access to authorized users only. Leaderboard data is readable by all players as it is intended to be public. Chat moderation records (bans and timeouts) are stored securely and only accessible to authorized Mantle Software staff.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

Third-Party Services

Soundwave integrates with the following third-party platforms, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Steam / Valve — player identity and ownership verification. See Steam Privacy Policy.
• Firebase / Google — data storage and real-time features. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Discord — Rich Presence game status display. See Discord Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

Soundwave is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your data (scores, chat messages, SR rating) at any time by contacting us through the Steam community hub. We will process requests within a reasonable timeframe. Note that leaderboard entries associated with your name may remain in aggregate historical records.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the game after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
